Safety & Regulatory Information

CAUTIONS AND WARNINGS

WARNING: TO REDUCE THE RISK OF FIRE, ELECTRIC SHOCK, OR INJURY TO PERSONS, OBSERVE THE FOLLOWING. READ AND SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS.

Installation work and electrical wiring must be done by qualified person(s) in accordance with applicable codes and standards (ANSI/NFPA 70), including fire-rated construction. Use this unit only in the manner intended by the manufacturer. If you have any questions, contact the manufacturer. After making the wire connections, the wires should be spread apart with the grounded conductor and the equipment-grounding conductor on one side of the outlet box and ungrounded conductor on the other side of the outlet box. The splices, after being made, should be turned upward and pushed carefully up into the outlet box.

WARNING: Before installing, servicing, or cleaning the fan, switch power off at the service panel and lock the disconnecting means to prevent accidental activation. When it cannot be locked, fasten a visible warning tag to the panel. Be cautious! Read all instructions and safety information before installing your new fan. Review the assembly diagrams. When cutting or drilling into walls or ceilings, avoid electrical wiring and hidden utilities. Ensure blades can rotate unobstructed with at least 7 ft clearance from the floor to the blade’s trailing edge.

WARNING: To reduce risk of fire, electric shock, or personal injury, mount to an outlet box marked “Acceptable for Fan Support of 15.9 kg (35 lbs) or less” and use the mounting screws provided with the box.

WARNING: To reduce risk of personal injury, do not bend blade holders during installation, balancing, or cleaning. Do not insert foreign objects between rotating blades.

CAUTION: For compliance with local codes and regulations in the U.S., if installing the secondary support safety cable, do not remove knockouts in the outlet box. Mount the safety cable through the reserved hole to the building structure (joist). Attach the mounting bracket using only hardware supplied with the box.

WARNING: To reduce risk of electric shock, this fan must be installed with a general-use, isolating wall control/switch.

WARNING: Use only fan speed control part no. BFR-G4F48D10G1 (manufacturer: Chungear Industrial Co. Ltd.). Do not use any other solid-state or variable-speed controls. If installed over a tub or shower, it must be marked for that application. Never place a switch where it can be reached from a tub or shower. Operation of this unit may affect the combustion airflow of fuel-burning equipment. Follow manufacturer guidelines and safety standards from NFPA, ASHRAE, and local codes.

CAUTION: Disconnect electrical supply before installing the light kit to reduce shock risk.

CAUTION: The light source is specific to this application and can overheat if serviced by untrained personnel. Return the product to an authorized service facility for repair. Check and re-tighten all set screws before installation.
